How to take screenshots in Windows (7, 8, 8.1 and 10) and Mac (OS X)| Step-by-step free guide with pictures





If you are playing any game and want to capture your achievement to share it with your friends Or you're working on a project and want to capture any data or file from your PC. Then best option is to take a screenshot. But if you don't know how to take screenshots then follow this guide I will tell you how to take screenshots in Windows (7, 8, 8.1 and 10) and Mac (OS X) 💻.

🔶  Taking Screenshots in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 &10
🔴        Snipping tool is a desktop app which allows you to take screenshots in your PC 💻. Snipping tool is also use for editing. To open snipping tool Go to Start>>Search🔎 >> and type Snipping tool in the search 🔍 box and click on appropriate result. It is very simple to use. Select the snip type from menu. Snipping tool gives you four snip types (free-form, Rectangular, window, full screen). Default type is rectangular snip. After selecting snip type click on new and drag the cursor around the area you want to capture. After taking snip it allows you to save, send, copy or edit your snip.
🔴        There are also some key combinations which allow you to take screenshots. If you have FN key in your keyboard then press FN + PrtSc to take screenshot of whole screen. The image will save in clipboard you have to paste it in paint first and then edit and save it in any file.

🔴        Press window key+ PrtSc key. (Print screen button is typically located between the functional keys). This action will take screenshot of your current window and save it directly to a folder named screenshot in your picture folder. You don't need to paste it on any other location first.
You can also Press Fn + window key + PrtSc. This key combination performs the same function.
🔴        In windows you can also take screenshot of window by pressing Alt + PrtScThis screenshot is saved in clipboard and you have to paste it in paint or any other photo editor software first. 
You can also Press Fn + Alt + PrtSc. Both key combinations perform same functions.

🔶  Taking Screenshots in Mac (OS X)
🔴        TO take full screenshots in MAC Press Command + shift + 3. This capture the entire screen and save it to a file labeled as "screenshot <date>".
🔴        You can also Press Command +control+ shift+ 3. This action copy your screenshot on clipboard and you can paste it at paint or any other photo editor easily.
🔴        To capture part of your display screen Press Command+ shift+ 4. The pointer will change into a small targeting cursor you can drag the cursor to take screenshot of your desire part. 
You can also change the cursor into targeting reticulated. Instead of dragging box press space this will turn cursor into camera icon. Now take screenshot of your window. The screenshot file will appear on your desktop.
